Feed-In Tariffs
If you are a property owner in Ontario, or another jurisdiction where a Feed-In Tariff (FIT) is available, you may be in an excellent positon to earn lease income for unused roof space or spare land – simply by agreeing to host a solar photovoltaic system. You do not have to pay any of the upfront or ongoing capital costs, and essentially take no risk.
Assuming your property has the right characteristics, CarbonFree Technology will design and specify the appropriate system, manage its installation and maintenance, and arrange for all of the necessary financing. We will take care of the required permitting, apply for the FIT payments and pay you monthly or annual rent for your roof or ground space. The system is metered separately and does not affect your electricity bill.
In the case of rooftop systems, we work closely with your existing roofing contractor to ensure that the system does not alter your roof warranty or affect its expected life. Hosting a system increases the lease income earned by your property, and makes it worth more should you wish to sell it. But because we know your plans for the property may change, we also offer an annual option to buy the system or have it removed, starting after the sixth year of operation.
