Government

Many government departments and agencies are eager to demonstrate environmental leadership by taking steps to reduce their carbon footprint. Distributed solar power generating systems are one practical and visible tool they can use.

Two common challenges that federal, state/provincial and municipal departments normally face when they are considering solar power are 1) a shortage of capital to pay for the systems and 2) an inability to take advantage of available tax incentives and accelerated depreciation for the installation of these systems.

For governments, third-party system ownership is an attractive option. In jurisdictions with Feed-In Tariffs, CarbonFree Technology is eager to rent government rooftops  or other unused space. In other jurisdictions, we are happy to enter into Power Purchase Agreements with governments for the long-term sale of electricity generated by systems located on government property.

We understand that most governments need to follow strict procurement guidelines, using formal Requests for Proposals (RFPs). If your organization is considering issuing a solar RFP, please consider including CarbonFree Technology on your list of potential bidders to be invited.
